Hojack Rail Park

Hojack Rail Park
Steele Landscape Architecture led the schematic design of a 4.5-acre park in Webster, New York, known as the Hojack Rail Park. This project pays homage to the area's rich railroad history, drawing inspiration from the former Hojack Line, now a cherished multi-use trail. The park serves a dual purpose, acting as a key stormwater infiltration basin to support environmental sustainability.
Key features of the park include connections to local trails, a destination-scale playground, a picnic pavilion, restrooms, and parking, creating a versatile space for community recreation. Situated on former Xerox land undergoing major redevelopment planning, the park plays a central role in revitalizing the area. The concept plan, developed in collaboration with Colliers Engineering and Design as part of the Webster Brownfield Opportunity Area planning study, emphasizing thoughtful integration of history, recreation, and environmental stewardship.
