Cohoes Empire State Trail Green Infrastructure

Cohoes Empire State Trail Green Infrastructure

As a sub-consultant to a CHA Consulting engineers, Steele Landscape Architecture developed green infrastructure planting design for the Mohawk-Hudson Bike Trail Green Infrastructure Project located in the City of Cohoes, New York.

This project is part of a regional plan to improve water quality in the New York State Capital District waterways using green infrastructure to treat stormwater flows conveyed along the corridor and reduce combined sewer discharges by 1 million gallons on an annual basis. The native plantings are both aesthetically pleasing and perform a high value ecological function in conjunction with the engineered green infrastructure practices.
