Town Hall Theater Alley

Steele Landscape Architecture developed a concept design for Theater Alley in Lowville, New York, as part of the Downtown Redevelopment Initiative. The design focused on creating an ADA-compliant route between the historic theater and nearby parking areas, navigating a complex series of grade changes and utility infrastructure. The project also aimed to activate the alley while preserving its “gritty” charm, which serves as a beloved photo backdrop for local high school students. This thoughtful design improved accessibility while maintaining the alley’s unique character, contributing to the revitalization of the downtown area and enhancing public space for the community.
