Brickyard Trail at the Sandra L. Frankel Nature Park

The Brickyard Trail is a scenic shared-use pathway that provides a north-south connection between two major roadways in Brighton, New York. Located within the newly created Sandra L Frankel Nature Park, the project features a stone dust trail, trailheads, interpretive and wayfinding signs, custom-designed kiosks, masonry seating elements, and a wood bridge at a creek crossing.

Sue Steele served as the project manager overseeing the multi-disciplinary team. She was responsible for the project's design, construction documents, specifications, bidding, and construction administration services. Sue also played a key role in securing the necessary permits for trail construction within regulated wetlands and for the creek crossing. Completed on time and within budget, the Brickyard Trail has earned multiple honors since its completion in 2015. The project enhances community access to nature while preserving the environment and creating a valuable recreational resource for the area.
