Seneca Mill Streambank Restoration

Seneca Mill Streambank Restoration

Steele Landscape Architecture is partnering with DDS Engineering to develop a plan for stream bank restoration at the Seneca Mills site along the Keuka Outlet Trail, managed by Friends of the Outlet Inc. The plan aims to rehabilitate a failing stream bank, focusing on improving maintenance capabilities, incorporating user amenities, and enhancing user safety.

The project will include agency reviews and permitting by eh NYS DEC, Army Corps of Engineers, and other agencies. Enhancements will incorporate picnic areas, overlooks, interpretive signage, and railings while preserving the site’s historic character within the Crooked Lake Outlet National Register Historic District. The project is funded by a Yates County recreation grant and aims to kick off in 2025.
