Cloverwood Forest Trail

Cloverwood Forest Trail

Cloverwood Senior Living hired Steele Landscape Architecture to develop a Master Plan addressing significant tree loss within its 6-acre conservation area and beloved campus nature trail caused by storm events. Facility administrators recognized the opportunity to enhance safety and improve the trail and conservation area to better serve the growing active resident population.

The plan revealed the forest’s 90-year history and the need for a forest management plan to preserve and protect it. This plan became the foundation for the nature trail master plan, which celebrates the site’s history through expanded trails and educational signage with interpretive elements.

As trees reach the end of their life expectancy, they will be repurposed into site amenities, including benches, pavilions, and signs. Rooted in best practices for senior facility design, the master plan focuses on creating a restorative environment, blending nature and thoughtful design to support the well-being of Cloverwood’s residents.
